OUR COVID-19 WORKING PRACTISES AND PRECAUTIONS
Following the recent outbreak of COVID-19, we contacted all our customers to reassure them that we at BKR Systems were taking the spread of this virus very seriously. We immediately undertook several measures in response to the pandemic in order to minimize the impact on all our clients. Although a great number of businesses began to work from home, some of our customers directly or indirectly, support essential services such as the NHS, Police, Fire Brigade, Local Authorities and other key operational companies. During this time we still continued to respond to emergency call out repairs where required but following strict practices, which included:
- Distributing hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes to all of our remote engineers, ensuring they use them regularly throughout the day.
- We asked all engineers to use their hand sanitizer upon arrival and departure at each clients premises.
- We increased our cleaning regime, ensuring all engineers cleaned they're tools and equipment regularly.
- We stopped the practise of requiring a client signature at the end of each job.
- All new photocopier training has been postponed until such a time that it is safe to complete.
- All print equipment sales meetings were to be conducted by zoom call, email or phone call only.
COVID-19 | Cleaning your Multi-functional print devices
Disinfecting contact surfaces during the COVID-19 pandemic is vital to limit the spread and transmission of the virus. In the workplace, multiple user contact surfaces such as copiers and printers must be cleaned regularly. Here are some tips to help clean the surfaces and touch panels of your office print devices:
- Ideally wear disposal gloves while cleaning.
- Turn off the device and unplug it from the wall or floor socket.
- In a spray bottle, mix 70% isopropyl alcohol with 30% water
- Spray the mixture on to a cloth and wipe the surface to be cleaned, do not spray directly on the device as this could cause damage.
- Pay special attention to to surfaces commonly touched by users such as touch screens, buttons, tray handles, and paper exit trays.
- Make sure all surfaces have completely dried before plugging the device back in.
- Dispose of the gloves after each clean and wash your hands thoroughly.
THE ONGOING IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON BUSINESSES

HOME WORKING PRINT SOLUTIONS
We now offer home office printers and copiers, including desktop and inkjet printers covered by fully inclusive maintenance contracts. Where we once would’ve had 6 multi-functional devices on two floors of a central London office, we are now supplying 30-40 maintained, desktop devices to staff homes and 1 multi-functional device serving mainly hot desks in a smaller London office base. All print devices can still managed remotely by and maintained & repaired when required.
THE ONGOING ECONOMIC IMPACT OF COVID-19
Unfortunately as with any economic crises, it’s inevitable some companies will buckle under the pressure. The country has already seen businesses large and small go in to Administration and our fear is we will only see an increase of this in the coming months.
